What is Nubian Fitness?
Nubian Fitness ...is a fusion of contemporary Afro-Brazilian Carnival Dance Movements and Cardiovascular (Aerobic) Exercise.
The class is designed to help elevate your heart rate (burn calories), build endurance and tone the muscles while dancing to the beat of African and Caribbean music. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to participate in this unique dance fitness experience. The dance movements are broken down and modified to ensure everyone experiences a safe but exhilarating dance fitness cardio workout.
Open to: Adult Women 18 years+
Day and time: Thursday, 6:30 - 7:30 pm
Fees: $40.00 for the 8-week session or $7.00 drop-in fee per class

Special Note: All registrants must complete a Registration Form prior to starting initial class. Please print out the Medical Release Form, and bring with you for your first class.
Class Cancellation Policy: Union Bethel may cancel classes without advance notice. We will make every endeavor to notify all participants as soon as possible of any schedule change and/or class cancellation.

Hey Everybody,
I’m so excited you have pre-registered for Nubian "FIT"
For the first class, plan to arrive 15 minutes earlier if you have not prepaid the full registration fee ($40.00) for the 8 week session. The walk-in fee is $7.00 per person for each class. Nubian fit is a “barefoot” cardio class taught in the African dance tradition. For individuals who are uncomfortable about being barefoot for the class, I recommend wearing yoga socks that have a rubber surface bottom. A pair of yoga socks can be purchased at most retail stores for about $10.00. For safety reasons, regular socks without athletic shoes may not be worn for this class.

In preparation for Nubian Fit, I recommend that you bring the following items with you to the first class:
- Bottle of water and towel
- Sarong - or African fabric or long colorful scarf worn as a wrap skirt, over yoga pants or black leggings (optional) but highly recommended.
